Goes perfectly with the Mediterranean kitchen and decoration: the handmade Atlantis tableware series with a special color gradient.
HANDCRAFTED PIECES FOR A MEDITERRANEAN-STYLE TABLE SETTING
Our new tableware series has more in common with the legendary island of Atlantis than just the name. Because with its flowing color gradients, it looks a bit as if it were a sunken treasure that was recovered from the seabed.
However, it does not come from the sea, but from a small, fine factory in Portugal, where it is produced by hand and under sustainable conditions exclusively for BUTLERS. A real sweetheart, where every part is unique. We spoke to BUTLERS Creative Director Frank Wehmeyer about the creation of this beautiful Boho-style tableware series and got a few tips from him on how to combine it.
EFFECT GLAZE MAKES EACH PIECE UNIQUE
Coral, blue or grey: which color are you serving up today?
A modern tableware series with a handmade look that gives a Mediterranean-inspired dining table the finishing touch: that was the task for our designers and creative people. They immediately got to work and developed ATLANTIS. A collection that not only looks handmade, but actually is.
"Atlantis is handcrafted exclusively for us in a small factory in Portugal - according to our design specifications and under sustainable conditions," says Frank Wehmeyer, who is responsible at BUTLERS with his team of creative people and buyers for the creation of collections and articles. Sustainable because the factory mainly uses solar energy and production is as environmentally friendly as possible. All material residues are 100% recycled and used water is treated and returned to the cycle as service water - for example for garden irrigation.
“What is special about Atlantis, however, is its effect glaze, also known as reactive glaze. The glaze is only applied to the product during the second firing process. And then it's time to wait and see. Because the result cannot be influenced. Every part looks different and unique,” Wehmeyer describes the production process.
MERMAID TABLE, SCANDI TABLE: ATLANTIS IS A REAL ALL-ROUND TALENT
Atlantis goes well with golden decorative accessories and harmonises particularly well with pink and blue. But the stoneware crockery can also be combined well with macrame, wood and mother-of-pearl.
Whether rustic country table, maritime or Scandinavian-inspired table decoration: The beauty of Atlantis is that it can be used in many ways and combined. "For me, the crockery series is perfect for a Mediterranean table setting for a fish meal or for a feminine mermaid theme," says Wehmeyer, adding: "In terms of color, I would go for pink, white and gold." The creative director recommends natural ones To combine materials such as seagrass or macramé accessories. "That goes perfectly with the handmade look of the stoneware series," says Wehmeyer. Decorative objects made of mother-of-pearl in the shape of shells or fish complete the picture and make the theme table perfect.
Atlantis is available in coral, gray and blue - and of course you can mix and match these colors to your heart's content.
