STYLISH STORAGE: HELPERS FOR MORE ORDER

Almost everyone has them somewhere in the apartment: the drawer in which all sorts of small items end up that would otherwise have no place. Otherwise, many small things tend to spread throughout the room and quickly create a mess. This need not be! For order, storage and decoration: beautiful baskets and boxes are real all-rounders and can be used in very different ways. Tips on how to make every room a little neater and prettier can be found here.

TIDY BATHROOM WITH VELVET AND WOOD

Lots of little things come together, especially in the bathroom: whether toothbrushes, tweezers, shower gel, soap or towels, everything needs a place. Smaller baskets and boxes are good so that you can find bits and bobs quickly, as they also brighten up the otherwise sterile bathroom and bring cosiness into the room.

EASY-PEASY DIY: THIS IS HOW BASKETS GET THAT CERTAIN SOMETHING

Tassels, tassels or pompoms? No matter what you call them, they are colorful, look funny and can be made really quickly. Whether you want to make your baskets a little more colorful, give a birthday present a personal touch or just want to get rid of leftover wool - you don't need much for the cheerful tassels.

Craft materials on table
Find a few materials and off you go.

All you need is some wool, a pair of scissors, and a couple of safety pins to secure it in place.

First, put on the yarn: To do this, wind the string evenly around four of your fingers. If you want to make larger tassels, you can also use a piece of cardboard and wrap the wool around it.

Wind up the wool until the tassel has reached the thickness you want. Either count or move forward by feeling so that each tassel looks very individual. Then cut the thread about ten centimeters long and pass it through between your top two fingers.

Once the upper part of the tassel is separated from the lower part, take the tassel from your hand and wrap enough wool around it until everything is tight.

To give the tassels their typical fringes, cut open the lower, longer part at the end. You can then trim the fringes so that they are all about the same length.

Finished tassels on basket
Coral, yellow and pink harmonize wonderfully with each other.

And the tassels are ready! With a safety pin you can now pierce the inside of the basket and easily attach the tassels to the outside. Let off steam with the colors, so your basket becomes an eye-catcher.
